President's Message

When my husband Stefan and I moved to the United States from Germany fourteen ago, we left our family and friends behind in search of a new life here in America. After a brief stop in Alabama we moved to San Jose in 2000.
I had my first born in 2002 and when I took her home, life changed and with no family or friends with kids around me I felt lost. All these parenting questions I had, no one was able to give me support in my new role as a mother.
With my first Playgroup, that I met the summer of 2002 I made incredible friends, and am truly thankful for all the amazing support that we have received. Las Madres has become our own extended family, in the absence of our own.
Our organization offers many ways for parents to network - through the playgroups, Club and member-wide events and online forums. We continue to expand our parenting resources and make further enhancements to our online services.
I am thrilled to be serving as Executive President for the next two years, and feel privileged to be working with such a passionate and talented group of women on the Executive Board.
