Speaker Nights

 

Our Speaker Night Committee organizes monthly lectures and workshops, presenting  topics relevant to our parenting and early childhood education needs.

 

Past topics have included:

 

  • Potty Training
  • Baby Sign Language
  • Estate & Financial Planning
  • Saving for College
  • Choosing a Preschool
  • Nutrition
  • Sleep Training
  • Discipline
  • And much more...

 In 2009, Las Madres was thrilled to be a participating sponsor to bring renowned parenting expert and widely published author, Alfie Kohn to the Bay Area, where he presented a lecture to over 4000 parents and educators.

Las Madres University

 

Las Madres is a 100% volunteer run California non-profit. Las Madres Unviersity provides our parents with workshops and trainings all designed to further develop their skills as a volunteer for Las Madres.

 

Additional specialty parenting workshops are also being offered for those families with more specific and diverse needs.

 

Upcoming workshops for 2009 & 2010 will include:

  • The Elephant in the Room: Talking with your child about grief and loss
  • Time Management for New Mommies
  • Travel with your kids
  • Sexuality and intimacy before, during and after pregnancy
  • And much more...
